Electricity
The annual gross electricity consumption in 2025 increased by 2.1% to 360.9 TWh, compared to the previous year. Electricity generation reached 362.9 TWh, increasing by 2.4%.
According to the results of the Türkiye National Energy Plan, electricity consumption is expected to be 455.3 TWh in 2030, 510.5 TWh in 2035.
By the end of January 2026, the installed capacity of Türkiye has reached 123,284 MW.
As of the end of January 2026, the distribution of installed capacity by resources is as follows: 26.2% hydraulic, 19.4% natural gas, 17,8% coal, 12.1% wind, 20.9% solar, 1.4% geothermal and 2.1% other sources.
Additionally, as of the end of January 2026, number of electricity generation plants in our country has reached 41,152 (including unlicenced plants). The distribution of power plants by resources is as follows: 774 hydraulic, 69 coal, 398 wind, 68 geothermal, 350 natural gas, 39,084 solar and 409 other power plants.
